Jasmina Abidova
A student at Midwood High School with a passion for law, leadership, and social equity. Whether reviving student clubs or working on the front lines of customer service and legal paperwork, I bring a unique combination of empathy, organization, and impassioned verve to every project.
My experiences
I’ve led over 100 student organizations, presented original research to public school students, and worked in both legal and insurance offices.
My Mission
At Midwood High School, I’ve revived the law club, organized club networks, and connected classmates with new resources. Through internships and research, I’ve gained not just skills, but a clear purpose: I’m not just learning law — I’m preparing to use it.

My experiences balance leadership, service, and professional growth —from student government and event planning to legal and insurance work. Each role has strengthened skills like public speaking, planning, and the patience needed to support others effectively.

Research
When I began my research on food insecurity, it wasn’t just for a grade — it was to understand something that affects thousands of families in my city.
From designing surveys and interviewing CEOs to distributing educational pamphlets and volunteering at food banks, this project was about transforming data into action.
It taught me the value of inquiry, compassion, and direct engagement — and the power of a student voice in public dialogue.

Conducted surveys and executive interviews
Created educational pamphlets, presented at schools
Volunteered with food pantries as part of outreach
Finalist in WISE competition
“Food Insecurity in NYC Youth” – WISE Quality of Life Project
Skills
Leadership is only as strong as the skills that support it. Through my diverse experiences, I’ve built a toolkit that spans event planning, legal research, public speaking, and client communication.
Just as important, I’ve developed the soft skills — empathy, adaptability, initiative — that allow those technical abilities to actually make an impact.
